TIME-SENSITIVE

Lexington SEPAC is looking for families to get involved!

The Lexington SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) represents the interest of students with disabilities, working with parents and Lexington Public Schools to help students with disabilities succeed.   We need volunteers to make this group work!

As a combined SEPAC and SEPTA, we represent the interest of all students on IEPs, 504s, or even those that do not need additional support.  Our group:

  • Meets regularly with LPS Administration to advocate for policies that support families and students

  • Runs programming that provides education to families around various topics

  • Facilitates support groups for families

  • Works towards creating an inclusive environment where all students have access to the resources they need to achieve their full potential

You can help by serving in a volunteer role in the 2024-2025 school year.  It is a great opportunity to learn more about special education issues in Lexington and learn effective advocacy strategies, while giving back to your community.  These roles give you a seat at the table when decisions are made that will impact your children. Many of these roles have flexibility and can be structured to fit your desired time commitment.

You can express interest here: https://forms.gle/ekZnPKkXBnytawhM6

Or reach out to us at fay.m.chen@gmail.com to inquire about positions.

Together, we can work to ensure that all children have a safe and equitable experience in our schools!
